  • Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) — measuring boost and vacuum in the intake manifold
  • Intake Air Temperature (IAT) — measuring the temperature of the charge air
  • Engine speed (RPM) and volumetric efficiency tables

This approach is more accurate at high power levels and eliminates the MAF sensor entirely from the fuelling calculation — removing a significant restriction and source of error in modified applications.


When Should You Consider an R35 Speed Density Conversion?

Installation Overview

The conversion is designed to be completed without specialist tools or permanent modifications. The process involves two main steps:

  1. Sensor swap — The provided TMAP sensor is installed in the driver side boost pipe. This replaces the factory boost pressure and provides both temperature and pressure readings to the ECU in a single unit.
  2. Harness connection — the motorsports-grade harness connects the TMAP sensor to the ECU using OEM-style connectors. No cutting or splicing required. The harness is routed through the engine bay and plugs directly into the factory loom.

Once installed the car will run as normal but will require a speed density tune to configure the ECU to use speed density VE based fuelling rather than MAF-based fuelling. This is not a plug-and-play tune, but the hardware installation itself is straightforward.
